I can confirm that most Budget trucks are plated in OK, as such they may have never actually been there or will be going back. Getting new plates would take more effort than its worth and if you see it Budget is likely making money on the rental then paying money to get new tags, which waterproofing with layers of packing tape would be cheaper.

True...but that also means that there is a real license plate laying around somewhere. Someone could use it to commit a crime. :(
